DIY Dry Shampoo

Hair By Kenn

D.I.Y. Two Ingredient Dry Shampoo Powder

This DIY is so easy, it will take you less than than five minutes to throw together. It is made with all natural ingredients that you most likely have already sitting in your kitchen cabinets.
All you need is corn starch and cocoa powder. Easy peasy.

What I use...

In a small bowl, start out with about two and a half tablespoons of corn starch. This is your base. You may need to come back to it and add more later.

Next, depending on your hair color, stir in small amounts of cocoa powder at a time until it resembles your hair color.

How to use...

*Start off by sectioning off your hair and applying it layer by layer to the roots with an old, but clean, makeup brush. I usually start with the hair at the bottom of my head and work my way up to the hair at my crown. Let the powder sit for a few minutes to absorb the oils in your hair. After a few minutes, brush your hair and style to your heart's desire.

**I would suggest, before using all over your head, to apply a little bit of the powder in an inconspicuous spot in your hair just to test the color of the powder with your hair color. If it looks too light and powdery, add a little bit more cocoa powder and test another spot until it blends in well.

If you have silver/gray hair, you can use cornstarch with dark cocoa powder, rather than regular cocoa powder. Because the dark cocoa powder is dark and almost black in color, when it mixes with the white corn starch, it creates a gray colored powder.

I hope you try my DIY and it turns out perfectly! Let me know how it works for you!
